The Emergency Services Section is responsible for the development and implementation of the Jamaica Red Cross’ Disaster Risk Management Programme to ensure that the Jamaica Red Cross is in a constant state of preparedness for timely response to emergency situations and disasters.
It coordinates Disaster Risk Management Programmes in collaboration with the Emergency Services Section Council as well as other relevant external agencies. It develops and coordinates training for Emergency Preparedness and Relief Personnel at National, Branch and Community levels by mobilizing volunteers.
The Emergency Services Section maintains good working relations with the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management as well as other Emergency Response Agencies and Donors.
